Inspired by Oversized Ideas - No. 15
Years ago, Chelsea Sonksen of Eredita invited me to a dinner party at the Parachute Hotel in Venice. It was the first real “influencer” dinner I’d ever been invited to, and I was excited nervous. All the women at that dinner I actually admired and knew a lot about them before attending. I felt so honored to be sharing a table with them. One guest in particular I was eager to meet was Satsuki Shibuya. She spoke about her practice as an artist and using the seasons to mirror her cadence of productivity vs. rest. As a (very) first born, daughter of an entrepreneur, this was such an eye opening discussion for me! In winter, Satsuki uses the time to hibernate, resting the mind and spirit, restoring creative energy. In spring, new growth and inspiration blossoms. Now as a mother of three kids, her philosophical approach to the calendar strongly resonates. I want to squeeze more work or creative time into the margins while the kids are sleeping, but during winter months when it is so dark outside, it feels physically impossible. My body is naturally demanding rest and responding to the season. Spring is just around the corner with the equinox on March 20. Ideas are bubbling and ready to see the light.
With spring’s arrival, I’m releasing a new product for oversized ideas. Be ready with your oversized ideas on Tuesday, March 21!
