Inspired by Lilac - No. 13
Lilac - the color of intrigue, wisdom, and royalty.
Before I started Alissa Bell Press, I was working at Deloitte as an auditor and then a campus recruiter. Dying for a creative outlet during my corporate tenure, I took an Introduction to Interior Design & Architecture course at UCLA Extension. This evening course was a weekly breath of fresh air and my first formal introduction to design and architecture. One of the assignments involved creating an art-piece dedicated to your favorite color. I love purple… so of course my project was dedicated to portraying purple. I went to the hardware store and gathered paint chips in all shades of lavender, royal, magenta, mauve - and fanned them across my poster-board in peacock feather layers. When presenting my simple project, the professor jokingly remarked that those who love purple really lean in. <3
